Good day!
This article will contain all the information about servers that you need for installing nodes and better understanding what we are dealing with when setting up a node.
First, let's understand what a server is.
A server is a specialized device (computer) that performs certain tasks. Usually, rented servers are used to install nodes (you rent it from a company that leases servers). They are pre-configured, so it is convenient.
These servers are divided into 3 types:
This type of server is part of a powerful physical computer that is divided at the operating system level into dedicated servers with limited capacity, for example, 2 CPU / 4 RAM / 200 SSD.
This option is ideal for undemanding nodes and is the cheapest server rental option. However, it handles heavy nodes/miners with difficulty, loads neighboring servers on the machine, which can result in a ban on hosting.
The same as VPS, but the distribution is already at the hardware level, which allows installing nodes and miners with increased load on hardware and traffic. It is recommended to install nodes/miners with increased load on hardware on VDS.
It is the most expensive rental option. In the case of renting such a server, the client is provided with a separate physical server. It is used to run programs that cannot work together with other projects on the physical machine. When renting such servers, the client can choose the processor manufacturer, disk type, etc.
